Carrie has been a Barrington Library Trustee since 2013. As current President of the library board and prior role as Treasurer, her work has included overseeing several library renovation projects, updating policies to reflect the latest trends, streamlining the library’s financial reporting, and implementing an investment portfolio to protect the financial integrity of the library. Carrie also played a significant role in recruiting, interviewing and hiring the last three library executive directors.
With concerns about funding and management of libraries in communities of all sizes and across the nation, it's more important than ever to elect trustees who support our library. Carrie brings eleven years of experience as a Barrington Library trustee and will continue to make our library the best ever.
Carrie has been a Barrington resident since 1997. In addition to her service on the library board, Carrie is a former Barrington Junior Women’s Club President and Treasurer and chaired committees such as Barrington Giving Day and the annual fashion show. She was a Girl Scout leader for over 10 years and was chair of numerous PTO committees while her daughters attended Barrington District 220 schools.
Professionally, Carrie has spent her career working for a large global consulting company in talent and learning strategy. Prior to her consulting work, she spent several years in advertising. Her professional background has made Carrie particularly cognizant of the importance of retaining and recruiting talented library staff and supporting new initiatives for our library.
